Willie Nelson was awardedInvestigator of the Year at the annual meeting of the Arizona Chapter of the International Association of Arson Investigators. Fire Cause Analysis fire investigator Tom Pierce has been selected to serve on the NFPA 211 technical committee. This committee oversees the standards for chimneys, fireplaces, vents, and solid fuel burning appliances.

In 21st Century v. Thorpe, the Alameda Superior Court issued a verdict in Plaintiff's favor under both breach of warranty and negligence theories. Andreja Stevanovic, Managing Engineer and Scott Alber, Fire Protection Engineer, testified in this case as experts for the plaintiff.

Dr. Joe Zicherman chairs section on Wildland Urban Interface Fire Issues at 10th Bi-Annual Fire and Materials Conference held in San Francisco, CA. The original work was performed by FCA for the office of the California State Fire Marshal.
